Description of service
My husband was looking for a job in his field and having difficulty finding one. He decided to attempt to use a headhunter services that was supposed to match his job capabilities with available positions.
Review of Service
This was a complete waste of money. He got only two job leads, and these were also posted in the newspaper. He did end up finding another job, but got the lead, followed through, and was awarded the position entirely on his own. This service cost $100, and did absolutely nothing for him other than letting him search a list of available jobs and send his resume to them. He could have mailed the resumes himself and saved the money.
Tips
1. Unless you are certain that the company is worth the effort, don't waste your money. Many times, you can do the same work yourself and avoid the additional cost. After all, there aren't too many people out looking for work who have an extra hundred dollars to throw around on something that isn't going to benefit them.
2. Save the money for a celebration party once you have the new job; these services are too often worthless, and unless you have a really tough time finding a job, I would highly recommend against using them.
