Description of service
Eyebrow threading is the act of using strings to cleanly shape the person's eyebrows. It is similar to eyebrow waxing in that the final result is the removal of eyebrow hair. However, the strings are used to pull the hair out in groups much like eyebrow tweezers. because the technique uses strings made taught by tying to the fingers of the technician, it is much faster and less painful than the standard waxing or tweezers.
Review of Service
I've been to several different salons for this service and found most places are comparable. The process itself is very quick and much cleaner than waxing. $10 is about the going rate, give or take, for this kind of service. Most of the workers use the same method and technique but sometimes, if they are inexperienced, will put a little too much pressure around the eyes as they try and get into position. But the overall process is quick, painless, and worth the money. Each treatment lasts about 2 - 3 weeks. This is, of course, based on how fast the hair grows back. And it does grow back eventually.
Tips
All of the technicians that offer this in my neighborhood were professional and thorough. However, if you are particular about how your brows are to be shaped, take a look at the technician as well as the workers there. It's usually a good indicator of how they like to work. Of course, it's always good to ask questions and get some details as to their experience and the different hair types of their clients.
