Description of service
Provides daily care for infants up to 9months in the nursery from 6:00am-6:30pm. Infants are placed in groups of 5 per 1 caretaker. High chair, swing and cribs are assigned to each child to stop the spread of germs. Age appropriate toys are provided and sanitized nightly. All food, bottles, diapers, wipes, tissues are supplied by the parent. 1:1 care is provided.
I chose this facility after visiting multiple centers in the area. This was the only one that provided part-time for infants (I only need 3 days a week, you can choose 3,4 or 5 days). The other only provide full-time charging $190 and up!
Furthermore, this center breaks up the age of "infants". Whereas other centers lump infants into 6weeks to 18months, this center breaks them up 6weeks to 9months, 9-12months, 12-18months. Each having their own room because of the developmental needs.
Each service provided- whether it be a diaper change or feeding is written down and initaled by the staff into a log and provided to you at the end of the day.
Plus, security is provided. Each parent has an access code to enter. All rooms are filmed and taped for reference.
Review of Service
Everyone says- "if your kids go to daycare they will be sick". My child has not yet been sick since starting daycare. the facility is always clean as are the staff. Scrub sets are provided so staff are just wearing their clothes from home and tracking in germs from outside! My child has never just been found laying in his crib crying- he is always being held or playing in his gym or swing.
After having a bad experience with an in-home daycare this is a blessing! I can always just come-in anytime due to the "open-door" policy and know my child is in good hands. There is always atleast 2 providers in the room at all time for policy and accountability.
The staff are warm and caring. The facility is professional. The service is priceless.
Tips
Go thru many daycare centers and talk to the staff. Don't make appointments because that is when they are expecting you. You want to know what an everyday experience is like. I went to a center and was just let in by one of the kids! The security system wasn't turned on! Worse of all it was on a busy, main road! talk to other parents, review tapes of classes if available. Check certifications needed for the facility and the childcare providers. Most of all- go with your gut instinct; your infant can't tell you if something is wrong- so accountability is needed in the classroom. Know the child-provider ratio.
