Description of service
This is the local price for a chiropractic adjustment with a licensed chiropractor. it included the cost of an exam and pain evaluation and spinal manipulation of both neck and back. It also included accupressure on sore muscles and 10 minutes of electro-stimulation. I spent approximately 20 minutes with the doctor, and approximately another 20 with his assistant who put moist heat on my back and used eletro-stimulation on my sore muscles. The cost of x-rays was a separate charge.
Review of Service
I felt some relief of my pain immediately, but it took two or three visits to really see results. The electro-stim and moist heat feel great and the accupressure reduces muscle spasm almost immediately. It is well worth the money considering the services I received and the amount of time spent helping me.
Tips
Make sure you seek recommendations before seeing a chiropractor. It is possible your own physician will recommend against seeing one and will refer you to an orthopedist instead, although lately my experience is more physicians are recognizing the value and legitimacy of chiropractic care. Always check with your doctor first. Be prepared to have the chiropractor recommend three visits per week to start, but speak up. If you cannot afford it, you will have to let the doctor know so he or she can tailor a treatment schedule that you can realistically maintain.
