Description of service
This is bare-bones health club service, annual fee. The facilities are small, every space is utilized. There are only 2 dance studios for work-outs, and only a few classes everyday. There is no pool, no yoga, no pilates. At the annual fee that I was charged, I could only go 3 days a week, either Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday or Wednesday Friday and Sunday. It is really for those who want to save money on fitness but at the same time still want to try to keep healthy and fit by making it a habit to go to the clubs. The fee does not include the trainer, who charges between 35-70 per half-hour sessions.
Review of Service
The facilities are simple, but the staff is enthusiastic and the vibe is casual and non-judgmental. The gym and the locker room is reasonably clean, the machines are relatively new and well-maintained. The use of the machines is very organized, you have to sign-up per 30 minutes slots per machine. I like it because it makes me appreciate time and the quality of the workout I choose to do that day. I think it was worth the money, considering that most gyms in the city go from $86-150 a month on average.
Tips
Watch out for special promotions from health clubs. The best time to sign up is during a holiday or the beginning of the season. I also notice that wintertime is when clubs lower or waive their joining fees.
