the Price of Retirement Planning Services

Peronal retirement planning which was done by a financial planner at a bank at which I hold an account.

This service was excellent because the person who provided me with the planning information and did all necessary transactions was respectful, patient, and seemed to have the main objective of being sure I understood everything that we were doing and why. Also was willing to explain terms and things that I did not understand- this was very important since I am not a financial professional.

The service was complimentary because I purchased some financial products from the bank and hold an account there.

I get an appointment on short notice, and feel under less pressure because I do not get billed by the hour.

If you are not willing to pay the higher prices of an independent account handler, then try your local bank or credit union; often they will offer retirement planning and so on for a discount if you hold an account there, and will do a number of transactions with no charge if you have a minimum amount invested through their bank.

As with any service, shop around; this may not be the best choice for you, but for someone like me who has limited funds and did not want to pay the extra fees, it worked out well.
