the Cost of Custom Signs

We had custom signs made for our rental houses last year. The cost listed was for one sign. The signs were aluminum, 12 x 18, and were printed on only one side. These were part of an economy line the company offered. The signs could be customized with different text and up to four different colors. The price would have been slightly higher if we would have ordered less signs. We ordered a total of twenty custom signs.

Although I do think the price was reasonable, the quality of the signs was poor. At first, we were happy with the way the signs looked. However, within a few months, the signs that had been exposed to the outside elements had already started to rust a little bit. Also, the print colors were much lighter after only a few weeks of being placed outside. Also, the signs chipped very badly. Even the signs that were not placed outside chipped! We ended up spending over five hundred dollars after taxes, and I think the quality could have been much better. We were expecting to use these signs for a few years- that won't be happening!

Ask to see samples- I think we would have spent more for better quality. Also, ask if they have a warranty on custom signs!
