Description of service
My computer broke one day and would only display a blue screen, no matter what I did I could not remove it. I called 2 local PC repair shops. The first was a large corporation who quoted me $65.00 just to look at it, not to fix it. The second mom & pop type operation quoted me $35.00 to look at it. I than called the actual company that I bought the computer from. They tried to walk me through fixing it over the telephone. We came to the conclusion that I was going to need to bring the computer to a local shop to have them backup my files, and then they would send me free of charge the disks I would need to totally redo my system. The small mom & pop computer store ended up charging me $50.00 to unload and then reload my files. The company I bought my computer from did not charge me anything, and they sent the disks, and through remote assistant they got my computer back up. I did however have to spend another $80.00 on a virus protection software program before I had my files reloaded. End cost $50.00 plus $80.00 = $130.00.
Review of Service
I think the company that I bought the computer from did a fantastic job. The remote assistant was incredible.
Tips
The large company seemed all about money. I would say if you needed computer repair and money is an issue. First try to do it with the company you bought it from. Second go to a small computer repair shop instead of a huge franchise. They seem cheaper, and want to help you.
