Description of service
This was a combination DJ and Officiant for the service, two different men working together under one company. I found them via a post on craigslist.org and spent about 2 months emailing the DJ back and forth, and meeting once before the actual wedding.
Review of Service
Overall, we were displeased with the service. The first problem we had was that our officiant ended up not being registered to preform the ceremony, which he didn't inform us until the rehearsal the night before the wedding. The second problem we had was that during our first dance as husband and wife, the speakers blew out! So, not only did we not really get to have a first dance, but the first half of the reception wasn't really set to music. The dj ended up running to a local store to get computer speakers. It was not a pleasant experience, to say the least. Very nice guys, but the services were less than professional, and we were not offered any sort of discount.
Tips
The number one tip I have for anyone looking for music for their wedding would be to really do an extensive search of local djs who have been used by people you know. If someone you know has had a good experience with them, chances are they do consistent work. Make sure you search for them online, to see if you can find reviews. Also, before signing any type of contract, make sure there is something stating what happens if there are problems on their end (speakers blow out, technical problems, etc). See if there is a way to get part of your money back in case those things happen. Don't allow price to be the biggest factor in your choice, because you really do get what you're paying for.
