Description of service
After entering the room, I was asked to lie down on a table that was covered by a paper similar to that found at a doctor's office. Hot wax was applied with a wooden stick to my face on both the under and upper sides of my eyebrow. One by one, strips of muslin were pressed onto the wax and then pulled quickly to remove the hair. After this was done approximately four times, wax was applied to my other eyebrow and the procedure was repeated.
Some tweezing was performed to touch up any areas that were not removed by the waxing. The tweezing was done quickly and sharply and was only marginally painful. The esthetician used a magnifying device to view my eyebrows during the tweezing process. She used small scissors to trim a small portion of my eyebrows so that the hairs would not fall downward and lower the arched shape.
Lastly, an oil based lotion was applied to the eyebrow area that was waxed in order to soothe any irritation that may have been caused by the waxing process and a towel was used to remove any pieces of wax that remained on my face. The oil was left on my face.
Review of Service
The service I received was excellent in quality. The esthetician I go to has a superior ability to shape my brows, which are thin and thus difficult to wax. She only pulled the wax and muslin once over each area, which prevents the skin from tearing.
Tips
Find someone who has a similar volume of hair and ask where she (or he) gets her eyebrows waxed. It is important to pay attention to the shape you prefer. It may be necessary to ask for the thickness, width, and severity of arch you desire.
