Description of service
I paid $12 for eyebrow waxing plus a $3 tip. There were no other taxes, materials fees, or any other charges.
Review of Service
I dropped in and made an on-the-spot appointment at a "brow bar" at a local mall. I waited approximately 15 minutes for my turn. I explained very explicitly how thick of a brow I wanted and what shape. Three technicians were set up in an assembly line formation, so my designated technician was able to quickly wax my brows, taking about 10 minutes, and about another 5 or 10 minutes to give me a complimentary application of brow makeup and touch up my eye makeup before I left. The set up was very efficient. I was happy with the outcome, especially for the price. However, being part of a mall shop and not an independent salon, there was somewhat of a sales pitch to buy products at the end. Overall I was very happy with the work, the price, and the convenience.
Tips
Examine the technicians' eyebrows and their clients brows as they leave. For example, if you like a natural, medium brow and the technician has a very thin brow and leaves her client with a very thin brow you may want to select a different technician altogether. You may find that a mere wisp of a brow is what that technician considers "medium" or "natural". If you stick with your designated technician instead of asking for another one, at least you will know you will have to be very explicit with your instructions about exactly how thick of a brow and what shape of a brow you want. I find that I leave brow waxings satisfied when I get a technician whose personal aesthetic naturally matches my own. Bringing a photograph of eyebrows you like is also very helpful.
