Description of service
I got my eyebrows waxed at a salon in the Pacific Beach neighborhood. I walked in without an appointment and was seen within 2 minutes.
The waxing took about 5 minutes, I paid and was out the door.
Waxing was $10, and I was so impressed with her speed and accuracy that I gave her a $3 tip.
Review of Service
This was as good an experience as one can have while having your eyebrows pulled out by the root using hot wax.
I'm not really one for pampering or fancy salons, I just prefer to have two eyebrows (instead of one) whenever possible.
I was surprised that she didn't ask me any questions before she started, and she wasn't particularly communicative about what she was doing. I'm pretty easy going, though, and she clearly knew what she was doing, so I just trusted her. In the end, she was extremely efficient and my eyebrows ended up only slightly more shaped than I would have liked.
A small price to pay, I think, for such a relatively painless experience.
Tips
If you have very strong opinions about the shape of your eyebrows or the atmosphere in which that is achieved, I recommend finding a salon and an aesthetician that you can develop a relationship with. They are generally very happy to have return clients and the investment in getting them to meet your needs will be well worth it.
If you're like me, and price and convenience are more important, then you should be able to be a bit flexible of the appearance of your brows, and even a bit flexible in the symmetry. This was a great experience, but not all of my walk-in-to-a-random-salon-for-an-impromptu-eyebrow-waxing have ended so happily.
