Description of service
There is a great Thai spa in Los Angeles which offers, among other services, complete waxing. They have a price list that includes most kinds of waxing, but will do some "off list" waxing like stomachs, sideburns, etc. I went in recently for eyebrow waxing ($15), although in the past I have had other services such as bikini waxing and underarm waxing. Their eyebrow waxing is done with very warm wax and muslin fabric. "Clean up" is done with tweezers. Once the waxing is complete, you are treated with aloe and other products to help reduce irritation, and the staff will give good advice for how to care for the waxed area. The entire process takes place in a private room on a professional salon bed, in a very relaxing atmosphere.
Review of Service
The services here are excellent and the staff is very efficient. Unlike some of the other Asian spas in town, everyone here speaks English fluently and it is easy to communicate with them. The aestheticians who do eyebrow (and other) waxing are all very talented and well trained, and will customize the experience for each client. I never feel rushed when I go in for any treatment there, including waxing. At the end of the treatment, you're taken out to the lobby by the person who did your treatment, and given a fresh bottle of water to take with you.
Tips
The best way to find good waxing services is to ask others who have it done. If someone you know has particularly well shaped eyebrows, ask where they have it done if they don't do it themselves. Once you find a waxer you are comfortable with, be specific with what you want. In my case, for eyebrows, I want them to be cleaned up only but retain their shape and length; don't risk coming out with short, stubby eyebrows, or pencil-thin ones if that's not what you want. Be specific, and make sure they're very clear on what you want.
