Description of service
I needed a taxi cab to travel about 25 miles from my home, I called several cab companys, and they were charging about $2.50 to start off, and anywhere from $1.50 to $1.80 for each additional mile. After calling several cab companys to get rates, I settled on a cab company that offered me a flat rate based on the distance I needed to travel. The price was initially $45.00 for the 25 mile trip. I decided to use the flat rate taxi oppose to the running meter, so I could have a better idea of the amount I would need to pay, and I also needed to swing by an ATM.
Review of Service
I called the taxi cab company and scheduled a time to be picked up. The cab driver called me to confirm when they were in route to my home. The driver was pleasent, he actually asked me to sit in the front, because we were traveling in a van, and there was a better breeze coming in the front window. The driver engaged in some small talk with me, and he drove me to an ATM machine to get some cash before starting my trip. The only problem was the fact that the van actually ran out of gas on the highway, and a police officer had to push us up the exit to a gas station. So this is the reason my trip was 10 dollars cheaper, the driver gave me a discount and apologized for the inconvenience. It was okay though, because he was nice.
Tips
It helps to know the exact number of miles you will be traveling, If your going about 10 miles, a metered cab is fine, but if your going a substantial distance and need to make a couple of stops, you should consider a falt rate taxi cab
