the Price of Taxis

We have a taxi service that not only drives you home, but also provides a driver for your vehicle. They provide this service for I believe 4 a mile. So my three mile ride home cost me 12 dollars. The service has their driver arrive on a small collapsible scooter, which fits in your trunk, or he is dropped of by another driver. Then he taxis you and your vehicle to your destination. I checked and they are fully insured.

This service is great for me. I can go out and drink comfortable in the notion that I can get me and my car home for a reasonable price, and not have to worry about how I'm going to get to work the next day, or about the overnight safety of my car, being left somewhere. They are always quick to respond, and every bit as courteous as the other taxis in my town. They also provide a debit type card which you can prepay on for a good discount. Basically for me, it makes drinking at a bar much more enjoyable and worry free.

Check into your local taxi companies and see if they offer a service like this. I find it cheaper than taking taxis both to and from my evening plans, and allows much more flexibility. If you do decide on this service, check to make sure that your car is covered under the companies insurance, and use common sense to make sure the driver they provide is competent and professional.
