Description of service
This email service is one of the largest on the web and now provides unlimited storage.
Free. Even though it is a free service, there are still plenty of options from which to choose. I set up lots of separate folders and filter much of my mail into folders. Having it sorted out instead of looking through everything saves me a lot of time.
Review of Service
Originally, the storage space was quite limited, but it continued to increase. It is now unlimited, which for many people means they never have to delete an email if they don't want to do so. You can even keep track of all the emails you send out, without worrying about the amount of space.
The service is paid for by advertisers buying space, so you will get a lot of spam. A lot. The good news is that the filters work very well and most of this garbage will go right into your junk mail folder, which empties itself every so often.
Tips
Free email accounts are great for personal use. If you have a business (online or off) using a "real" email provider will look more professional.
For freelancing online, free email works fine. You might want to set up an extra account for work and keep a separate one for family and friends.
Do check your junk mail folder every so often to make sure good email hasn't been filtered there. If it has, open it, mark it, and move it to your inbox. If you find spam in your inbox, don't open it. Report it as spam.
