Description of service
About two weeks ago my state of the art oven stopped working. Unfortunately it only had a 5 year warranty and of course we were just beginning year 6. This kind of made me mad, but I was too cheap to purchase the extended service plan. In the end I'm still glad I didn't because it cost more than the repair, so at least at this point I've paid less. There was something wrong with the gas flow for the front right burner. It wound up being a weld that had gone bad potentially exposing my family to a gas leak for about a day. Luckily it was just small enough that it wouldn't work and not too large to be dangerous. They rewelded a new pipe to it and a couple other standard maintenance things that I didn't understand and it's as good as new.
Review of Service
The service man was a bit scruffy and unkempt and not all that friendly, but he made the job a quick on in less than an hour he figured out the problem and fixed it with parts in his truck. Luckily for me it was an hourly fee plus parts and that came out to about $250 for labor and $250 for parts. All in all the stove is back working like new.
Tips
It's got to be fixed if it's a gas leak so just try to hire someone that you're comfortable having in the house if possible.
