Description of service
After self-installing our new gas range/oven into our new home in April of this year, we were continually having issues with the oven not heating up correctly and the pilot light going out on us. Our oven was brand new and still under warranty, so we had a technician come out and take a look at it. The call was free, as it was part of the one year warranty and also within the 90 day return period. The tech came out to our home and disconnected the oven from the wall completely. He found a blockage in our oven's gas pipe that was responsible for the pilot light and oven temperature regulation. He cleared the blockage and reconnected the oven to the wall and we were good to go.
Review of Service
This had to be the easiest repair service I have ever gone through. They were able to get a tech to our home the next day after we called, the tech was really friendly, and he seemed to know exactly what the problem was as soon as we described our issues. He was only in our home for not even a full hour. The call was free, so that was a bonus. Our oven has worked flawlessly since this repair and we have had no other issues with this appliance at all.
Tips
When you are dealing with a gas oven, definitely let the professionals fix it. I may have been able to figure out that it was a gas line blockage, but I didn't want to risk blowing myself up and would not have known what to do or how to turn the gas off like the tech did. Also, know your appliance's warranty. This saved us the cost of a service call, because at first they were going to try to charge us. Having our receipt saved us this money.
