Description of service
The service I recieved was a glycolic acid peel. Glycolic acid peel is used to " shed " your skin. Mainly for people who have wrinkles, acne, or acne scarring. This is not an idvasive treatment and can be performed by dermatolgist or an esthetician. Make sure you do your research when having this performed by an esthetician, even though this is an in and out treatment if done incorrectly your skin could be damaged. There was not any burning or pain when the treatment was applied and it's left on for a very short period of time. The glycolic acid peel was in combination with a regular facial and results are best with more than one treatment. After I left her office my skin was very red and over the next few hours became tight. By the next day my skin started to crack from the tightness and peel away. I would say a total of 3-5 days for all my skin to peel off.
Review of Service
I enjoyed the treatment and feel it can make a real difference with many treatments. I do think it's a good price for the service but can get expensive when going through all the treatments plus you may want to buy products to assist your skin through the peeling stages. The only negative part for me was the peeling like a snake. I'm very self consious so I didn't leave my home untill the process was complete
Tips
My tip is to make sure the person doing your treatment is familiar with these type of services and has had experience. It is one of the more common treatments but you don't want to harm your skin. The only thing I wish I would have known was how bad the peeling process was going to be. My peeling experience may have been a little worse than others or I could have just been a little self consious about it but there's no way I would have gone to work or anything like that.
