the Cost of Weddings

We had a DJ come and take care of all of the music for our wedding last year. He was an all electronic DJ, meaning that he did not use cds but rather used a couple of ipods to do all of the music. He brought all of his own stuff including the mixers and speakers. Also included in this price is the small parquet dance floor that we rented through the same company. They came to deliver this and picked it up after the wedding.

Overall, we were pretty happy with the DJ. He was a nice enough guy and played good music. However, we told him exactly what to play so there wasn't much gray area there. He had most of the stuff on his ipod but I gave him a disc of other songs that we wanted played and he played those too. He didn't do any sort of announcements other than the basic stuff but did a fine job with that. Basically, we wanted him to provide background music for dinner and some dance or party music after that and he went with the flow well. If we were to do this again, we would probably go with the same company.

Make sure to provide a list of what and what NOT to play; then, your guests won't be stuck doing the macarena.
