Description of service
The course fees were $60.00 for a session of 6 lessons. Once I paid the course fees, I attended the class. It was weekly and there was 6 lessons in all. Each class was one hour long. I received a great introduction into belly dancing, including the basic movements, strengthening and costuming. We learned how to move only certain body parts (i.e hips or shoulders) and we learned full body moves as well. The course fees covered only the cost of the classes.
Review of Service
I was very pleased with the service I received. The classes were small and personal, yet I didn't feel as if I was on display at any time. The instructor was professional and friendly. I am so glad that I took the class and can't wait to go back for the intermediate classes! It was a great value for the price. As I proceeded through the course, I felt my confidence level going up as I learned more about belly dancing. My experience was wholly positive.
Tips
When you go to your first class, be sure and wear something comfortable. For the tribal belly dancing classes, I found it helpful to wear a lightweight, gauzy skirt, with leggings underneath. You could also wear dance or yoga pants. You'll want a shortish shirt so that the instructor can visualize your motions. If you want one of the more typical belly dancing outfits, you can ask your instructor where to get one. Keep in mind that you will be dancing barefooted. Also be prepared to sweat! It is a great workout, but it is so fun that you don't feel like you're working out at all.
