Description of service
My son attended 3 year old preschool Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 8 am until 12pm at the elementary school. The $75/month fee paid for the supplies, snack, teacher, and school fees. Each day they worked on the alphabet and numbers and learning to write their names and other words. They would also go out to morning recess with the other lower elementary age children for fifteen minutes each morning. When the children were dropped off they had to be signed in and than before they could leave at the end of class they had to be signed back out by an adult on their accepted pick up sheet.
Review of Service
My son loved going to this preschool and is signed up to return for the 4 year old school next school year. The teachers were very little kid friendly, taught at the age appropriate level, and were willing to work with the chilren that did not catch on to things right away with out getting frustrated or mad. My sons vocabulary improved through out the year and he now knows how to write his full name, count to 25, write his ABC's, his phone number, address, and what to do if someone comes up to him that he doesn't know.
Tips
I checked into both a private preschool and the public school preschool and found that the educational teaching at the public school was at a much higher level than the private preschool. From other parents I have heard that the private preschool was more of a daycare center where the children were watched and didn't really learn anything, whereas the public school preschool is preparing the children for kindergarten. Check through all of your options before you choose one type of preschool over the other.
