Description of service
I use a federally funded program for my preschool children. The program is great for children 3-5 years old. I have had four kids go through this preschool and it has helped each of them profusely. They have learned their ABC's and 123's before they have made it to Kindergarden. The school even has a bus system, in which they pick my children up at my home, and drop them off at the end of the day. The typical school day is 4-6 hours.
Review of Service
Alot of people will critize this program, but since it is run by my local school board I have no worries. I am very interactive with the school and volunteer there about 10 hours a month. Because of this, I have seen some of the things the children do while in school. They have story time, take naps, play on the playground, practice their ABC's and counting, eat lunch and then play some more. It really is a good time for the children, and they get a head start on socializing with other children.
Tips
I would recommend anyone to get their kids into a preschool. They may not do much there, but the social interaction and basic learning skill they aquire is well worth the trouble and will help your child transisition into kindergarden flawlessly.
