the Cost of Preschool at a Public School

We were looking for a pre-school for our daughter. We were very impressed by the preschool operated by our local school district. They offer classes both 2 and 3 days per week. Teachers are well-qualified, and the school is accredited by the right agencies. Classes are offered both in the morning and the afternoon. The school is conveniently located at the town high school. The school includes several classrooms and a dedicated, fenced-in, playground.

The school is well-managed, and works to support each child as an individual. Due to high-enrollment, they do conduct a lottery to determine who gets in. This is much less stressful than the application process used by pre-school's in major cities. They were very prompt in sending the results of the lottery. The teachers are caring and compassionate. They are very thorough in communicating their expectations to parents, as well as feedback about your child's progress.

We were fortunate to know a family with a child already in the school who gave us a raving recommendation. If you are new to the area and don't know anyone with experience with the area's preschools, you will need to carefully review and inspect each school to find out which ones will best meet the needs of your child. Safety is critical, as is experience and teaching philosophy.
