The service was the installation of (including purchase of the actual system itself) a home security system. The system is of the wireless variety. It has support for 40 Wireless Zones, a large backlit LCD display, and simple menu-driven settings for timers, latchkey, and pass code options. It also features an incredibly loud siren.
Review of Service
The peace of mind that a secure home offers is invaluable. Statistics that show how effective security systems are to deter against break-ins simply do not lie. The system we got is relatively cheap, and also involves no monthly-fees for monitoring. Because of the wireless nature of the product, we did not feel that was necessary. In addition, we don't have to deal with a mess of wires or anything else.
Tips
My tip is to definitely invest in a home security system because the peace of mind and safety that come with it truly are priceless. However, you don't have to break the bank to do so. I personally feel that those monthly fees for "monitoring" are a wasteful gimmick and not needed if your system is actually good enough. Pay for a good system in the first place, and you won't need that extra monthly fee stuff.
