Description of service
The supposed professional installation of a wireless home security system, including 6 binary sensors and one camera. Configuration was also included.
Review of Service
I assumed installation would be quite straightforward, and no mention of drilling or modifications to door frames or windows was mentioned in the marketing literature, but it turns out that was a sort of bait and switch thing.... An old guy showed up at my door for installation on the appointed day, on time, mind you, and proceeded to install 6 on/off sensors and one camera with no consideration to the fact that, you know, someone lives here, this is my home. He left sawdust and debris from drilling around the window and door, which I had to clean up. I thought that was a bit odd. Not too impressed- why did he have to do any drilling? The sensors could be adhesive backed. The whole point of a wireless system is to avoid complications with installing the hardware!
Tips
Do the installation yourself. These handyman-type guys have no consideration, you're just a sucker to them, and if I'm going to do all the work of cleaning up after them, I might as well install it myself and not make a mess to begin with. I assumed there was some sort of configuration involved, but it turns out, and I looked this up afterwards, it is all automatic.
