Description of service
Installer came to my house to install a satellite, cables, and the three satellite receivers. He was to install the satellite on the South side of our home. After installing the satellite, he would use the cables in place to set up our receivers. The whole process was targeted for completion within one hour.
Review of Service
Installer arrived 2 hours after the prescribed time window. He bolted the satellite to the side of my house, and used cables already in place. It took him a while to get the receivers set up to even receive the signal, and he went out to adjust the satellite. After a while, I went out to check on him, and found him smoking and talking on his cell phone. When he saw me he ended the call, and went back to work. He went back inside and got the receivers set up, and called in to the service to activate it. When I went out later, I found not only the cigarette stub, but also wire shavings and leftover hardware. This is troublesome, as we have a toddler running around.
Tips
Always ask lots of questions, and be sure to let the installer know your opinion. Their "best place" for the satellite might not be where you want it. Keep an eye on the installer and check up on them throughout the install.
