the Cost of Micro Braids

This was a appointment to have my hair braided into micro braids which was done at a shop by women from Africa. This process cost 200 dollars and took about 8 hours which was done in two days. There are some people who can sit for eight hours, taking short breaks and have the braids done in one day. Others cannot because either they cannot sit for long periods of time or they have children to pick up. I cannot sit for long periods of time, so I opted to break my appointment into two days. The salon did not supply the hair needed for the extensions, so I had to bring the extra hair.Your hair was then divided into sections and small pieces of your hair was woven into the synthetic hair to create the braid. The hairdresser starts from the back of your head and slowly moves towards the front. The braids are very thin and it is time consuming. At the end of this process, the hairdresser will clip any loose strands of hair, then she will take a lighter and seal the ends. She takes each braid and burns the end to seal it. That way, the braid does not unravel and will last longer. Needless to say, after all the braiding is done, you head is sore from all the tugging and tight braiding.

As I said this was a very long process, the women were pleasant often speaking in their native tongue. They were professional and if you told them that the braid was to tight, they would make sure that each braid was to your liking. In some hair braiding salons, beverages are offered, however in this salon they were not. They did have a television on so that you would have something to watch as you sat there. I opted to bring my Ipod and listen to music. My overall experience with this salon was a positive one, however because this process was so long, I doubt if I would go through this again. I would recommend this salon to anyone looking to have micro braids

make sure you bring a book or music because this is a long process. Also make sure that you ask the hairdresser how much human or synthetic hair to bring because it may take a lot more than you anticipated. Also wear comfortable clothes because you will be sitting a long time, and bring something to eat.Da
