Description of service

My daughter is a beautician and what she would normally charge at the rate of $125, I was able to only pay $60. I did however pay for the supplies which was the hair itself two packs for $40, braid moisturizer $7, scarf $5, and pink liquid hold spray $5 which is a total of $117. I purchased human hair based on experience, I purchased synthetic hair in the past and it tends to frizz up in a matter of weeks which gives the hair a bushy look. The human hair is more natural and lasts up to three months and six months if taken care of properly.

It took my daughter a day and half to finish my hair due to my micros being rather thin and having to attend to each braid individually. Before the braids were started I had to get my hair thoroughly shampooed and conditioned, and also so that my hair would have a smooth look I also had to apply perm to my hair.

After everything was finished my hair was nice and glossy, the blend made the micros look just like my own hair because of the time my daughter took to go through the process.

Review of Service

I felt as though my beautician did an excellent job and made me feel very confident based on the quality of work she did in regards to the price she charged me. I most definitely felt like I was a celebrity of high status. She made me feel comfortable and also gave me tips on how to give my braids longevity, also she told me how to keep my own hair healthy while maintaining the micro braids.

Although everything was on point I thought that the process should have been a little less than a day and a half, maybe it took that long because we are family but nonetheless the time it took could have been shorter. I cannot however complain about the price, what I was given was a bargain, more than a bargain for most salons I went to in the past because usually these days micros cost anywhere between $175 to $250 and there are so many different ways to perform this style that the prices could even skyrocket to more.

I would more than likely go to my daughter in the long run because even though we are family I feel as though she is the best qualified to maintain my hair.

Tips

I would advise anyone to make sure that they do their research before selecting any beautician, look up all credentials, talk to other customers, make sure that they are a perfect fit because the wrong choice could not only cost you your money but also cost you your hair. Also ask if their is anything you can do to get a discount on the price of the service such as purchasing the hair yourself, bringing your own products, etc. You would be surprised at how many beauticians agree with this and basically just charge you for the procedure of the braids and nothing else.

Always be sure you know exactly what you want and make sure you ask the beautician how long does it typically take to put the micro braids in because you need to know if you are going to have to get a sitter for the kids, or will you have to devote a whole day or maybe two days to this procedure, this way their will be no surprises and the experience will be a good one.

Ask the beautician about the products you will need to keep your braids looking, feeling, and smelling nice so that your braids will last the amount of time expected.
