Description of service
I had a short in my car stereo. I took it to a local large chain retailer to have it repaired. The service took about 10 minutes and the charge was $75 total.
Review of Service
I was very disappointed with this service. They did get the stereo fixed and did so very quickly. However, the problem ended up being very minor. From what I understand, a cord had simply become unplugged from the stereo. It took them all of about 10 seconds to get it done and yet they still charged me their minimum fee of $75.
I understand that I should have read the agreement more thoroughly but I never would have guessed they would charge that much to simply push a plug in.
The service though was very quick. They looked at the car as soon as I got there and were quick getting the paperwork done and taking my payment, though they wouldn't come down on the price at all.
Tips
Be sure to read and understand the minimums that will be imposed when you need your stereo repaired. If you need something minor done, make sure you're not choosing a company that's going to charge you close to $100 just to touch your stereo.
