the Price of Cosmetic Dentistry

I had chipped two of my teeth when I was 8 years old and I never had a chance to fix them. I put a remote control in my mouth and broke my two front teeth. When the adult teeth came in they were chipped at the bottom and it looked like they were slanted. I did have caps placed on my teeth when I was ten, but over time they wore down and one turned yellow. I went in and the dentist shaved down the yellow old caps and then put on new caps and shaped them. It took about an hour of my time total and it didn't hurt one bit. I didn't need to be numbed and my teeth look perfect.

It was considered a cometic procedure by my insurance, but since the cap had turned yellow they gave me a lower price. It would have been $500 if I didn't complain that it was their fault. The dentist was a bit in a hurry and I didn't enjoy that. I was afraid he was going to mess up my teeth. I am glad it only took an hour to complete the whole process and I do enjoy my new smile.

I suggest you talk to your dentist and let them know if you are sensitive. You don't want to be in any unnecessary pain and feel free to speak up. Dental work is expensive and you should try to ask for payment plans whenever you can't afford it.
