Description of service
The services I received was to pay for a total smile makeover for someone in my family who had very poor health in his teeth. The cost included a prosthodontist, endodontist, and oral surgeon to complete the work. The work included multiple root canals, crowns and bridges on almost every remaining tooth, extractions, bone grating, and five implants. So a lot of work was done. Since it was considered "cosmetic" insurance did not cover the majority of the work, also because our maximum benefits per year is very low.
Review of Service
The service we received was fantastic. Each doctor was obviously very good at what he did, and the end result is of very high, lasting quality. His smile is so incredibly improved. The cost was definitely high, but was the best option to have good work done that will not need to be redone in only a few years.
Tips
Just go for it. There are many financing options available, and while it is expensive, having a good or acceptable smile is crucial for your self-esteem as well as employment and health. Get a few differing opinions, as many smile makeover dentists give free consultations and estimates. But do make sure you are getting the best work by specialists. The first time my family member had work done, it fell apart within about two years. Also, be aware that major smile makeovers take a lot longer than they show you on television! He had dentist appointments at least monthly for over a year before the work was completed. Of course it has all been worth it!
