Description of service
An incisor I had had a root canal in 10 years prior had broken off at the gum. It was completely broken into three pieces and upon review by the dentist, was not fixable. This was quite a horrendous event as it was a tooth in the front that would be seen whenever I opened my mouth. He stated that a permanent bridge would be the way to go and would be cheaper than doing an implant. He quoted the price of 3000, so I stated I would go with it as i felt comfortable with him.
Review of Service
The service required a number of visits that involved oral surgery, a fitting for both the temporary bridge and the permanent bridge, a grinding down of the foundation teeth that would be holding the permanent bridge in, and finally the final fitting of the bridge itself. I can't say how happy I am with the outcome! I can smile broadly and no one has ever hinted that it was a bridge. I don't have to use any of the denture/bridge adhesives or have any of those loops in my mouth to hold it in. I can actually eat apples and corn on the cob and have no worries that it will come loose or get food in it. I highly recommend getting one.
Tips
Make sure you and the dentist are on the same page in regards to tooth shade and structure/appearance. Or else you could end up with a bridge that is too light for your mouth and the surrounding teeth.
