Description of service
I took a few hour long oil painting classes. They cost $40 a piece and that included the oil paints that were used in the class.
Review of Service
I had experience in oil painting but wanted help improving my skills. I found this series of classes that were very casual and worked for exactly what I wanted. Each class was independent of the others. meaning you didn't need to have attended the others to get something out of one class.
At the beginning of the 12 weeks of classes I was given a hand out of the different topics that would be covered in each class, like still life, portrait, etc. I liked this idea a lot because I was able to avoid classes like impressionist painting that I wasn't interested in. The flexibility also meant I didn't have to clear my schedule each week for the class, if I couldn't go I wouldn't be out any money as we only paid for the classes we went to .
The instructor was wonderful. She instructed for about half an hour and then walked around while we painted and gave advice. Technically the classes were only an hour but there was no one in the studio after us so we often stayed for up to an hour after the class was officially over.
Tips
Try to find flexible classes and a class style that allows you to show up only when you're learning about specifically what you want to know about.
