Description of service
Childcare for my four year old daughter for a five day period roughly eight hours per day. This includes two snacks and a nutritional lunch and any classroom activities or outside activities that they attend such as going to the library or other field trips. This is an in home operation done by an accredited child care provider and she operates from five in the morning until six at night. It is a small operation and the most children that she has at one time is about six so it offers alot of personal interaction and relationship growth time for each individual child. She takes them on many field trips as mentioned above and they go do things such as picnics, music lessons, learn bicycle safety, do holiday events and other community based events that should come up during the time that they are in her care. They are each taught number and letter recognition and how to write and the basic that they will need before entering into actual school. She is known for buying special things for the kids and makes sure each one has eveything that he or she needs at her center in order to have a great experience.
Review of Service
I am very satisfied with the service that is provided for me at this cost. I am fortunate and get a slight discount from regular parents, and I know that in this area the price can get way higher than what I pay. My daughter wants to know everyday if it is a school day or not because she looks forward to going there and spending time with her friends and going to the places that they are taken to. It gives her a sense of confidence and helps her to socialize with other kids since she is an only child. I wish that I was capable of sending her there more frequently and I hope to be able to afford it on a regular basis in the near future because it gives me and my daughter something to talk together about. She loves to come home and teach me what it is she learned that day. I also love that the provider seems to care about me as well as my child. She talks to me as an individual and as a mom to one of the children that she keeps. We have built a friendship from the service.
Tips
Be sure and check around to the different facilities in your area before choosing one. Make a trip to them and have them give you a tour of the grounds. I have learned that the bigger the school or care facility doesn't always mean that the better care will be given there. Make sure that they meet your child's specific needs and that you approve of their disciplinary policies and other procedures. You don't want to send your child to somewhere that you wouldn't want to be for eight hours of the day. I look for a place that I know will nurture and love my child just as I would if I were keeping her instead. You want to make sure that the place is kept clean of germs and that it has control of situations and a tight security system. I have had to take my daughter out of a school before due to them just allowing her to be picked up by my friend. Even though she was on the list they didn't even ask her for an id or anything and it was her first time to ever go to the center. I was upset by this and thought what if it had been a stranger they would have let her go. So be aware of how they run things and their policies on the safety of your child.
