Description of service
I stayed at a drug/alcohol rehabilitation center for a full week. This included twenty-four hour care, room and board, counseling, and food. The facility provided group therapy three times a day and individual therapy once a day. Patients could also request to see a medical doctor or psychiatric doctor at any time. There was a nurses' station, which was staffed at all times. This is where patients could receive their medications, ask for personal items, or ask any questions. This price did not include detoxification, which would have cost more due to medication and more medical care. The follow-up care and outpatient treatment was also not included in this cost.
Review of Service
In general, I was satisfied with this service. The staff was very upbeat and helpful. I learned a lot of life skills from the individual therapy and the 12-step groups. The doctors appeared to be a little stand-offish and busy, but it was nice to be able to see them. The therapists were all very nice and knowledgeable. The facility itself was a bit dingy and had quite an institutional feel to it, but it was kept very clean. I would return here if in need of this service again.
Tips
Make sure you will be comfortable in the surroundings before you admit yourself anywhere - take a tour if possible.
