Description of service
The service included one year's liability, theft, and accidental damage coverage on a weekend-use bike (mileage is limited) for a married 30 year old in good health who has been riding regularly since childhood, has taken various motorcycle safety courses, and has no recorded accidents or traffic infractions.
The company also offers insurance for cars, boats, trucks, RVs, houses, and pretty much anything else you can name. Rates vary based on the nature of coverage, and how big a risk the client appears to be.
Review of Service
I've had my cars and motorcycles insured by the same company pretty much forever, they've always gotten me reasonable prices and I've had little to complain about as far as service goes. Nearly always when I needed something taken care of it was underway by the end of the business day. But because insurance is meant to take care of bad things, it's never when a good thing happens that you need to use it.
Tips
It's insurance, which is mandated by law here in AZ. It's nice to have if your bike gets stolen or knocked over and broken, but won't make a lick of difference if you're run over by someone who "didn't see" you -- the most common claim made by drivers who hit motorcyclists, by the way. Motorcycles are inherently unsafe because you wrap around the motorcycle rather than the way a car wraps around you. If you ride, it's something you have to accept.
One thing to note, if you can get insurance for your bike through the same company that does your house or your car, you might be eligible for a package discount on multiple services.
