Description of service
My own nails were cut short and filed round. Then nail tips were applied over my nails with super glue; the tips were then cut to the length I preferred. The tips were then covered with acrylic paste, very carefully and thoroughly; the acrylic coating was ground, buffed, and smoothed - using hand and electric tools - to a very natural-looking thickness and shape. The nails were nicely polished with a good quality enamel. Had a lot of choices to make: acrylic or gel, white tips or clear or pink, square or rounded shape, and a large selection of colors for the painting of the nails.
Review of Service
The service I received was a great value; the nails were better done than most I've seen, and than any I've had before. My artificial nails are quite thin and are just the length I like. The manicure and paint are excellent. The quality of the products was good and I'm very happy with the appearance and the price I paid. The salon I used is owned and operated by a married couple and they are quite friendly and concerned with customer satisfaction. They make sure to ask if you're happy with the job they've done and if not, they fix it to make it right.
Tips
Look for a smaller salon, not a chain; I think that people who own their own business are more invested in making sure you're happy with their work. Also, if a place has a lot of regulars (if the employees seem to greet a lot of people by name, for instance) you're probably going to get a better "product." The price I paid is about average for the area I live in and you can probably expect that your region will have an average price, as well; remember that, very often, when someone is significantly less expensive, the work may reflect that. Conversely, very expensive places may not offer any better work; location and decor can influence price but not product.
