the Cost of Online Advertising

We paid $30 for an online classified ad in a forum. There were several packages available to us. We chose the $30 for 30 days package.

We were pretty happy with this. We did notice a jump in people calling to request our free informational video. However, we were doing a lot of promotional things at the time so we can't be sure exactly why our numbers jumped. The company we dealt with was reputable and very responsive to questions that we had. They proofed the ad we submitted and actually made some minor suggestions that, in their experience, helps the ad to stand out and increase the chances of it being read. When the ad went live on their site we were sent an e-mail confirming it. They also sent us information in regards to how many hits our ad was getting every day.

If we had this to do over again we would have a field on our online ordering page to ask where the customer heard about us. We'd also ask them if they called our shop directly. This would help us a lot as we don't have any idea how effective our ad was or if was worth the money we spent.
