Description of service

In the early parts of 2007, my mother became very ill. After some time, we were unable to care for her and she needed to find the Hospice care to take care of her in her final days of life. It was a very difficult choice but we found a facility near our house that was like a home for my mother. The cost was 500.00 per week and would include medications that were needed, three meals and snack a day if she were able to eat, beverages, around the clock care, crafts and recreational activities. If one were able to do any of those things, they would be covered with that. There was not tax and it was a flat fee each week, even if they could not participate in all of the events. The care alone in other places would be over one thousand dollars a week.

Review of Service

The nurses and staff of the hospice facility were more than I could have ever imagined. They were kind, considerate and compassionate to help these people cross over to their next life. The only draw back is that you still had to pay the flat 500.00 fee each week even if the person could not eat or could not participate in crafts or recreation, but it is reasonable either way.

Tips

I feel that word of mouth is the best tip. Word from friends or colleagues or other medical professionals like doctors because the phone book will just not cut it. The transition to your next life is hard enough to have to worry about those taking care of your loved ones.
