Description of service
We had two old appliances that no longer worked removed from the basement of our home, one washing machine and one dryer. The people we called came to remove the appliances the same week. They came with two guys and a truck and loaded the washer and dryer onto the truck. I do not know if they tried to repair them, sold them for parts, or just junked them. They only accepted cash.
Review of Service
The guys who removed the appliances did the job quickly. It took them about fifteen minutes. While $100 for 15 minutes of work seems like a lot, there is no way that we could have removed the appliances ourselves. We would have had to pay to rent a truck and probably pay some sort of a dump fee too. So, overall I would say that this was a bargain. The guys didn't ding any walls or leave behind any debris. We are happy with what they did and would call them again if we have more stuff to be removed.
Tips
Try posting on craigslist to get someone to get rid of your junk. You'll usually get a better price there. Note that most craigslist workers take cash only and are not insured, though some might be. If this concerns you, check with potential workers if they are bonded and insured.
