Description of service
Our satellite television service includes connections to two televisions, one in the family room and one in the bedroom, along with the two converter boxes. We subscribe to the basic plus package, which gives us the local channels, the main cable package of channels, and about 20 additional channels. We do not get the movie channels or extra sports packages. The $68 includes the $63 primary receiver and monthly cost, and there is another $5 for the extra connection. The two remote controls are included free.
Review of Service
We switched over from cable service to satellite service and it is much better. We are happier with the picture, which is clear and isn't cut off on the sides of the screen, and the signal is almost always strong and doesn't go out as often. The satellite company handled the installation well and answered our questions when we first signed up, and since then there are free weekends when we can watch movies, and sometimes there are previews of new channels or sports channels too. The price is about the same as cable and we are satisfied that it is a good value for our household.
Tips
Don't let the sales representative or the installation guy convince you to sign up for extras that you don't need, like the monthly program guide or more channels that you probably won't watch or even find, since there are 150 channels anyway in the package that most people have.
