Description of service
8th grade at a private school offering a "classical" education. School hours: 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Classical education included an emphasis on foreign language (latin), Humanities and Art. The curriculum included the usual math, english and physical education.
Review of Service
For our daughters 3 years of middle school she attended this school (6th,7th, and 8th grades). We enjoyed the fact that they offered an emphasis on latin and humanities. The education that our daughter received was top notch. With an indepth study in history focusing on humanities, she has received an education that you would typically find in the most expensive preperatory acadamies. She has a strong grasp of the latin language which will certainly help her with her studies as she continue into college. The school as a whole lacked the ability to administrate students that were in the middle school and high school. There was a lack of strong leadership and supervision among the students. I am pleased with the education portion of our time at the school but feel administration could have been much better in meeting the needs of the students and the families.
Tips
I would suggest a interview with the school before enrollment and a look into the schools stability. Look for qualified administrators with experience in middle and high school aged children.
