Description of service
I had my top front teeth, four of them, veneered because I had serious pits and overall damage to them from a condition I had as a child. I had to pay about $450 per tooth for the veneers and the lab work to make them, parts. as well as two dental visits and 6 hours of oral surgery, totaling about $600, labor.
The work took two separate visits. first they ground down most of the original tooth in order to get past the damage and give the veneers a good, consistent surface to adhere to. They then took a plaster mold of the remaining tooth so that their lab could fashion veneers that would fit perfectly to their bases. Then, to protect the remaining original tooth, they attached temporary coverings. When I returned, several weeks later, I had a 6 hour procedure where they attached the final product. The final veneers still required a significant amount of grinding to achieve their final fit.
Review of Service
The temporary coverings came detached very easily and I had to make several visits to get them reattached, luckily those were free of charge. The dentist behaved like I had abused my temporaries with unnecessary stress, but I believe that the temporary fittings are mediocre at best. The first came off while eating fast-food fried chicken (very soft, greasy, not tough or hard in the least). The procedure was very painful, they didn't use N02 but I suppose they would oblige if you requested it. The dentist was competent, not great, but I don't believe there is a pleasant way to get this procedure.
Tips
Be careful of your insurance company, they will fight tooth and nail to say that these are cosmetic, and they may be for some, but I needed them to protect my teeth. If I didn't have my veneers, I would be toothless by 30.
