My son has had a hard time picking up on complicated mathmatics and I have hired a tutor in my area to help him learn algebra. The tutor came to my house to teach my son, but also met him at the library on several occasions. They usually show up three times a week for two hours at a time. The tutor charges me $25 an hour to sit and teach my son. He is in the tenth grade and is a sophmore in high school.
Review of Service
The tutor is always nice to me and my son. I have noticed a huge differnce in his math skills since he started being tutored. I shopped around for a good tutor and did not pick the cheapest one, but rather went with one with good referrals. It cost a bit more, but it has been well worth it. My son has been tutored for the last four months or so and is now getting an A in math, up from a D+.
Tips
Ask around and see what will fit your child's needs. The local school district will be able to help you make a good decision on a tutor, as well as referrals.
