Description of service

My 12 year old daughter loves art but her school doesn't offer a very full art curriculum. I priced various after-school painting programs and found one that offers twice-weekly painting classes for $100, which includes all of the supplies. The classes last for ninety minutes each and are reasonably close to our home.

Review of Service

I'm so happy with the results! The class size is small so my daughter has, in effect, a private art tutor. Her work has shown steady progress and now she's learning more advanced techniques. The instructor offers plenty of positive feedback and is always available when I pick her up to answer questions. This is a great hobby for her and so much better than playing video games or hanging out at myspace. The price is very reasonable and best of all, since she does most of her work at his studio I don't have to clean up messy paint or brushes at home.

Tips

Prices vary widely so be sure to do your homework and shop around. Classes are much less expensive than private tutors but inquire how large the class size generally is - if it's small, you'll get some of the benefits of private tutoring for much less money. Supplies can be expensive so try to find a class that offers the supplies with the class price. Of course, make sure you're comfortable with the instructor and that he/she is available to talk to you about your child's progress.
