Description of service
Martial Arts "camp", intense, week-long classes teaching from beginners through black belts, teaches discipline. Classes were for one week, eight hours a day, and included a meal and a uniform.
Review of Service
Services were exceptional. The instructors were extremely patient with my otherwise "spirited" son. He learned a lot in a week's time, and there was a distinct change in his behavior for the better as soon as classes began. He became more focused and disciplined very quickly. He also burned off a lot of unused energy. The instructors were all very well-trained in Tae-Kwon-Do, and made going to classes exciting and compelling for my son. He loved every second of it, and had I unlimited funds, he would have stayed at Tae-Kwon-Do camp all summer long.
Tips
Get a good feel for the school first. Just because the price is right, doesn't mean your child will be a good student in that one particular setting. Meet with lots of schools and instructors--there aren't any shortages of them out there! Most are willing to give a free class for the first visit to see how well a student will adapt to it. Take advantage of as many of these free classes as you can before trying to determine the right fit for your child. Different Tae-Kwon-Do schools have different teaching philosophies, so it is going to be a good idea to gauge how well your child may learn under each philosophy before deciding which one is best.
