Description of service
I hired a day laborer to help clean a room and prep it for painting. I paid them $80 for about 9 hours of work. I also fed them lunch and a light dinner.
Review of Service
When I leased the space my store is now in, there was a lot of work to do to get it ready. I hired painters but they wanted the space cleared out and the walls cleaned as they were covered in grime. I didn't want to do this so I hired a day laborer to come in, get all the trash the previous tenant had left out and to wipe the walls and clean the floors down. I ordered in lunch and picked up a sandwich at a local shop for dinner. The worker worked very hard and dilligently. In fact, I had trouble getting him to take a break. He followed all my directions exactly. In fact, that was the only problem. He wasn't able to foresee problems that arose or to make decisions on what to do with things on his own. But for the money I spent he did a great job.
Tips
If you aren't paying much you should be prepared to have to do a lot of supervising. If you don't have time for this, offer a better wage and you will get a better capliber of employee.
