Description of service
We were taking a few days off at Virginia Beach and rented two bikes from one of the local shops. They rented them by the hour and I am glad we only got one hour. They were basic Huffy bikes with no speeds, gears or shocks. They were older bikes, we even had a hard time adjusting the height of the seat due to age of the bike. We biked the boardwalk, which is totally flat, but the bikes were in such poor shape it felt as if we were pushing alot of resistance. It was difficult to build up or maintain any speed, they were poor quality, older bikes which are probably maintained at the lowest level.
Review of Service
Service was good, there were plenty of bikes available to rent. This is their peak season, so they have bikes available from early morning into the evening.
Tips
I would recommend a test spin before you rent your bike. Just make sure it's properly adjusted and rides OK. In our case, we rented the bike and then needed to adjust the seat, so we paid for some riding time which we did not use. I would also recommend only renting for an hour at a time - the bikes we rented were uncomfortable so it would have been painful to go past an hour.
