the Price of Bicycle Rentals

I rented a bicycle for a full day in Chicago. The cost for the day was $32. That included a 10% discount for making a reservation on the internet. I ended up returning the bicycle late and paying a $5 late payment penalty.

I had friends in town who were bike enthusiasts and wanted to bike around the lake. We all rented bikes for the day. I hadn't ridden in years so I asked the folks working what they recommended for a casual rider. They recommended the Schwinn Voyageur. It was comfy and pretty fast too. They made a great recommendation.

All of the bikes were very clean and in very good condition. The people working were very nice and knowledgeable. We were overall very impressed.

The only downside was that we did lose track of time and return the bikes late. This caused us to all have to pay a $5 late fee. I understand they had to stay late to wait for us to drop the bikes off, so I didn't blame the bike rental company.

Be sure to plan ahead and keep track of time so you don't have to pay a late fee for returning the bike late. Look online for internet only specials.
